toby tobias joins delusions again for what will be his sixth(!) 12inch entitled the rain. the prolific londoner whose releases have graced such venerable labels as rekids, esp intistute and lets play house, is back with a vengeance, delivering two mighty fine originals plus a remix from nebraska. in true toby tobias style, the rain got made on an mpc, sliced and edited from a single live take through the desk then accidentally deleted so no further mixing, sequencing or editing could be carried out. but what is an a&r mans nightmare, turns out to be the record buying djs gain, as the improvised, dubby vibe and raw as mixdown give the track an authentic feel and energy which could only come from the madness in tobys method. fresh from his brilliant releases on mister saturday night and razor n tape, we have our man nebraska do his thing on the remix of the rain. dropping down the bpms a bit from tobys more frenetic original, nebraska adds a healthy dose of moogy lead lines to the lo-slung house groove, perfect for warming up the dancefloor.

...and in the end, not a great deal is known about the spanish duo futuro. the saga begins with the discovery of a cache of test pressings deep within the shelves of a very dusty record shop near the plaza del toros de valencia. as is the case with these things there was no promo sheet or any other information outside of three clues etched into the run-out groove: futuro, jollyman, mcmlxxxvii. through deduction and reasoning it was soon realised that jollyman was a short lived italian record label that closed it s doors in 1987. there were rumours for a while that jollyman was a mafia wedding gift to a music enthused female family member, but as the journey continued it became slightly more likely that this was a tax write-off for it s owners, as the label itself was never very successful, and was more likely an afterthought rather than a full on passion project. that is not to say that there were not gems hidden within it s small catalogue, most notably from noted library musician, composer and arranger alessandro signoretti, without whose help this release would not be presently in front of you. alessandro s assistance led us to the infamous hafenklang studio in hamburg, germany. the very same studio used by boytronic to record their classic lp the continental (some of the same dx presets can easily be heard on both albums) and despite the insane amounts of musicians that have passed through those doors the owner clearly remembered the duo and finally the mysterious futuro had names: javier c rayón and raúl láynez.

too late for the italo boom, and too early for the sonido de valencia craze, the recordings of futuro have sat on master tapes since 1987 finally awaiting their much deserved audience. bordello a parigi are more than proud to present this lost late slow-mo synthesizer italo masterpiece onto the world.

cult duo rework are next up on my favorite robot with a five track ep that shows off their brilliantly inventive house and tech style. the production outfit of daniel varga, michael kuebler deal in left of centre and freaky house with a mischievous afterparty slant. they have been active for more than a decade now and have credits on great labels like visionquest, items & things, meant and the institution that is playhouse. the brilliantly sleazy “talk it off” opens things up with popping drums, playful lyrics and a steely sound that is designed for wonky basement parties. “valencia” goes deeper with warm drums and synths surging along next to an elastic groove that is propped up by energetic and incendiary chord stabs. it’s a subtle but high impact track that will raise the energy levels on any floor. “think about you” has vocals coated in echo and delay and trippy synths that are lively and off kilter. it makes for a track that is brilliantly loose and undulating and cannot fail to get under your skin. final track “attractive” heads in a much more techno direction with surging drums and hypnotic slithering synths that burrow deep into your brain and seep into the night. it is trance inducing for sure, and shows another side to this accomplished outfit. this is a versatile ep stuffed with killer cuts for many different moments in the night, and each is as standout as the next.

drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene s most cutting-edge techno. with releases this year already from adam beyer, pig&dan, alan fitzpatrick, dense & pika and julian jeweil, this july sees the return of enrico sangiuliano with astral projection. after his remix of mobys of why does my heart feel so bad back in november last year, enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. the result brings a mind and body melting release from the italian producer. the title track astral projection is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level. ‘blooming era has destructive dancefloor intent. there is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which enrico has mastered to perfection. a tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track. if you have seen label head honcho adam beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. road-tested to the max, and with much success.

welcome -into laniakea-. we are proud to present our first release: -160 mega parsec- as a various artists. different artists to represent the variety of universes we have in our supercluster. with artist on board such as passenger, caseer and voiture, transonic flow and diffuse arc, this is a versatile record. the a1 starts the journey with passenger, the italian artist gives us a spacey and slow electronic track with a moody bassline, perfect to introduce the label style. the a2 is more a bouncy housy acidish track with a weird vocal coming from the french and dutch duo. it drives from the start to the end with groovy bass and low kick perfect to kill a dancefloor. on the other side, you have a dreamy electro track from transonic flow, german duo from hamburg composed of koloman trax and hitekjaz. the b1 is a pure gem with its melodic yet rhythmic lead. they told us it has been club validated! the last track is from no one else than diffuse arc, who searched his tapes and hard drives to send us some unreleased and hidden tracks. the result is a deep and groovy ballad with acid bassline that will suit every music lovers. you got it, -into lanieakea- is all about groove and spacy dreamy tracks. we trully hope you will get touched by the vibe and the love we put into this record.

didier allyne embodies a certain kind of underground already in the mid 90 s : a record store clerk, distributor, artist and dj, he cross-cuttingly approched the scene even back then, when -french touch- was massive. embracing the new trends from a sideways perspective, he emerged with his own blend of broken beat, soul jazz and warp style electro, always keeping the groove in sight, basicaly what techno is all about, as deep and singular as it gets he began the parisian shop traffic records in 1998. this compilation will be in several volumes that have been flagship pieces of this shop influenced by fat cat records, wally s groove world in others ...this first techno volume highlights the influence that didier received at fat cat by the introspective piece stasis -so-lar- on time in right in 1993 & ritchie inkle, one of the designers of nu loop & whose piece - happy face -represents the techno sound represented by traffic records

after a successful year with releases on cocoon, cadenza and get physical, gavin herlihy teams up with brothers in crime evan baggs (get physical) and julian ganzer (get physical, meerestief), to deliver a sci-fi soundscape which bounds into a banging bassline driven groove. doing the honours on the remixes are chris carrier and e-contact (half of gimikk), chris turns the track into a funky house tune, while e-contact adds a more of a chicago groove feeling to the track.

industry veteran paolo martini is next to join the emerald city family with red rocks. bringing the funk, he delivers a solid two-track release with irresistible groove and dance-floor disco heat. paolo martini has been in the business for over 30 years, first releasing with gianni bini on various labels such as defected, strictly rhythm, universal, azuli and nervous. they soon established their own label ocean trax and handled remixes of kylie minogue and jamiroquai. paolo has also been testimonial for several clothing brands including diesel and adidas and also the rane mp2015 mixer. his following co-productions can be found on acclaimed labels such as hot creations, snatch!, moon harbour, 8bit, saved and cecille amongst many others. 2017 starts the beginning of a new adventure with a string of releases geared up under his new solo project.
